Mikoshi, or portable shrines, are carried around the streets on  first day of the three-day Sanja Matsuri, Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. Friday May 18th 2018. The Sanja matsuri, or festival, takes place over the third weekend of May in the streets around the famous Senso-ji Temple.
