2013 No Nuke Day June 2nd Tokyo

June 2nd 2013 was "No Nuke Day" in Tokyo. Officials said 60,000 people gathered in Shiba Park, near Tokyo Tower, to signal their displeasure at the Japanese government's plans regarding nuclear energy. The protest was attended by famous writers and activists who later lead a protest march to Hibiya Park and then onto the National Diet Building in the evening where people called strongly on the politicians not to restart and expand on the nuclear facilities that have been stalled since the March 11th 2011 earthquake and tsunami created a nuclear crisis at the Fukushima Daichi nuclear plant. The Prime Minister at the time of the accident, Naoto Kan, attended the rally outside the Diet building.
