Remembrance Sunday is marked in Europe to honour the lives of soldiers that died in the First World War. Remembrance day takes place on November 11th, when hostilities ended in 1918, but ceremonies at war cemeteries usually take place on the closest Sunday.
In Japan the Commonwealth War Graves Commission maintain several cemeteries and graves throughout the country. One of the largest and most important is the Yokohama War Cemetery in Hodogaya.
