Pressure to give Japan a less sleazy image have not only caused name changes to the establishments, they are now often called Fashion Hotels, but has also cut down on some of the more salacious decor inside. Indeed as Japan ages and the young people increasingly find romantic relationship tedious and unnecessary many fear for the survival of this unusual and often iconic buildings.
