Nobeyama Radio Observatory

The Nobeyama Radio Observatory (NRO) was founded in 1976 and is a project run by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ), and the National Institute of Natural Sciences (NINS). The site is high in the Japanese Southern Alps region in Nagano, about 120 kilometres from Tokyo, and operates powerful, advanced radio telescopes, including a 45-m Radio Telescope (one of the world's largest),The Nobeyama Radio Polarimeter, and the 6 antenna Nobeyama millimetre array.
