Ushiku Amedi Buddha in Ibaraki prefecture, Japan


The Ushiku Amida Buddha statue stands in a place called Ushiku Arcadia (formely Jodo Teien Garden) in Ibaraki Prefecture about 50 kilometres northeast of Tokyo. At 100 metres tall from head to toes and standing on a 10 metre high lotus base and another 10 metre platform the total height of the statue is 120 metres making it the tallest Buddhist statue in the World.
