Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa


Young women dressed as herons take part in the Daigyoretsu or Grand on first day of the three-day Sanja Matsuri, Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. Friday May 18th 2018. The Sanja matsuri, or festival, takes place over the third weekend of May in the streets around the famous Senso-ji Temple. It lis one of the biggest festivals in Japan and lasts for three days (May 18th to May 20th) with parades of large mikoshi, or portable shrines, carried around the streets by crowds of supporters
