Hamaorisai Matsuri


Mikoshi or portable shrine are carried through the streets at night during the Hamaorisai Matsuri, Chigasaki, Kanagawa, Japan Monday July 15th 2013. The festival starts early in the morning when around forty mikoshi are carried from shrines all over the area to Southern Beach, arriving in time for sunrise. They are then carried into the surf to honour the Marine Day national holiday
