May Day Rally in Japan 2107
Thousands of people took part in the 88th May Day rally in Central Tokyo to mark International Workers` Day. Tokyo, Japan. Monday, May 1st 2017 The rally started at 9am in Yoyogi Park near Shibuya and the march began at 12:30 despite heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rally called for an end to overwork in Japan along with other labour issues and protested traditional left wing subjects such as nuclear power and weapons, and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's plans to reinterpret Article 9 of the Japanese constitution, thus making the Japanese military Self Defence Force able to fight wars alongside its allies.
