The clean up in Ishinomaki, Miyagi


Bruce Lawrence, a market consultant from New York, and part of team 60 Peace Boat volunteers known as the "fish guys" after removing 18 tonnes of rotten fish from a damaged warehouse during the clean-up operations in Ishinomaki, Miyagi Friday May 6th 2011. Around 350 volunteers took part in the relief effort over the Golden Week holiday, including 41 foreigners, clearing mud and removing debris from this coastal town which more almost levelled in the March 11th earthquake and tsunami.
