The Fifth anniversary of the March 11th Tohoku earthquake and tsunami


People come to a shrine on Hiyori yama or Weather Hill to remember victims of the tsunami at Miyagi, Japan. Friday March 11th 2016. 2016 marks the fifth anniversary of the Great East Japan earthquake. This magnitude 9 quake caused a tsunami that flattened large parts of the Tohoku coast killing around 18,000 people and triggering a nuclear disaster at Fukushima Daichi Power Station.
