Kishiwada Danjiri matsuri

Ornately carved floats called Danjiri are pulled through the streets of Kishiwada during the danjiri festival or matsuri. Each float weigh about 4 tonnes and stands over 3 metres high. They are pulled by teams of up to a thousand people, young and old, and each challenges itself to skid the danjiri round street corners at great speed.
