Abandoned Tomioka Town
A tsunami-wrecked hotel on the coast in the town of Tomioka, Futaba District of Fukushima, Japan. Thursday May 2nd 2013. The town was evacuated on March 12th after the March 11th 2011 earthquake and tsunami cause meltdowns at the nearby Fukushima Daichi nuclear power station. It lies well within the 20 kms exclusion zone though parts of the town have recently been opened again to allow locals to visit their property during daylight hours.
